Bargate Quarter is a 519-home build-to-rent neighbourhood taking shape around Southampton's medieval town walls on the five-acre former Bargate shopping centre site. Developed by Tellon Capital and forward-funded by Legal & General (£132m, for its retirement business), the scheme mixes studios with one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments and townhouses above roughly 2,500 sqm of ground-floor shops and restaurants. Managed by urbanbubble under L&G's homes-for-rent platform, it is due to open its first homes in 2026.
